Do You Live With Your Parents? Michael B. Jordan Does

There has been so much talk about the need for men to move out of their parents’ home. This, according to Twitter users (both Kenyan and international), should be any age above 20 years. Do you agree? Actor Michael B. Jordan has had to defend his stance on living with his parents and his love for anime.

A few days ago, a user attacked Michael (forgetting he’s a villain in Black Panther hehee) saying, “Michael B Jordan Is A 5’9” Adult Man That Loves Anime & Lives With His Parents….Y’all Told Me All Of Those Things Were Unacceptable Though.”

Michael, however, did not take this lying low. He responded rather smartly and said, “First of All I’m 6ft and they live with ME. Put some respeck on my name. LOL…aaaand goku & naruto are real ones.”

Recently, there have been memes and discussions in the Kenyan Twittersphere about why men should move out after they get to a certain age. Some have been supporting the idea saying it builds a man and makes him responsible. Over time, the social media voice is changing to one saying that youngsters should move out, doesn’t matter whether they’re male or female, once they reach age 20.

To some degree, there are benefits of moving out once you get to say age 23. Some of them include:

Independence- This is one of the many factors that us youngsters consider when moving out. You will get the chance to make your own house rules, eat what you want and do things when you want. Am I right or right?

Privacy- This is also one of the benefits that will come with living on your own. You might feel like your whole life is exposed when living with your parents. Moving out will solve that.

Self-dependency- If you want to improve your skills in self-reliance, moving out will boost your esteem. You will have to learn how to do several things on your own without your guardians’ assistance.

However, unlike Michael B. Jordan who already has a career and is actually housing his parents and not the other way around, such plans don’t always materialize.

You might be hindered by financial difficulties. Before you move out, make sure to plan thoroughly. But then again, what are you doing living with your parents at 24? Get out!
