Jay-Z and Beyonce’s twins are barely a year old and the two announced they’re going on a world tour. Wow. They’re currently in Jamaica possibly filming videos for their new music. Who is taking care of their kids? That is beside the point. Their work ethic impresses me honestly and I wonder how they do it.
I’m currently on internship and I feel like I can’t put in more hours into other goals I have. Do you ever feel like that? And then we have two megastars who have the responsibility of a family but that is not stopping them from pursuing music. In honesty, music is how they earn their daily bread but do you think it’s easy?
I’m barely 25 years old which means I have more energy and time on my hands. How can I get rid of this laziness, or let’s say, lack of commitment? I have been reading articles about that and there’s no shortcut about it, you have to create that extra time.
The CEO of Pinterest, Ben Silberman, said in an interview that nowadays you can’t separate your personal life from your work life. That means trying to find a balance between being online (liking, posting, retweeting, DM-ing) and connecting with bae and family.
I have tried to find a way to make all this work for me. This is what I did on my first trial:
- I stayed 30mins more at work after 5 pm. It’s a start so don’t judge me.
- During the lunch hour, I applied for a leadership position at AIESEC. I want to take up leadership in a small way.
- I remained up late chatting with friends and sacrificed sleeping early despite being at work the following day.
- I read an online magazine in the morning on my way to work. I enjoy reading.
It’s hard balancing it all or maybe I’m just a little too lazy. What do you think? How are you creating time to do the things you love and to achieve your goals?
Jay-Z, I want to be a billionaire so freaking bad. Beyonce, I don’t know how you do it.
