With talk of an imminent takeover by the LBJ’S and Yeezy’s in terms of sales over the Jordan brand of sneakers in the near future, the Jordan brand as a whole have been on the offensive throughout the year. This has led to a spike in the release of Jordan sneakers throughout the year.
This can be proven by the fact that they’ve released sneakers for almost every occasion and are collaborating a lot more. This point brings me to the two sneakers I’m going to give y’all a little insight on; the Jordan Air 1 PSG & the Jordan 3 chlorophyll tinkers. These two types of Jordan’s together with the retro 4’s & 7’s (whatever the series) are the best recommendation for a Jordan collection rookie. They are easy to pair and maintain and are also very aesthetically appealing, hence the reason why these sneakers are getting the most releases.
- Jordan Air 1 PSG
This sneaker is a brainchild of the collaboration between Jordan’s and popular French football club Paris Saint Germain. Together they put out a capsule of different sports apparel from sweatpants to trainers. But for obvious reasons the Jordan 1’s dropped a little later with the original date being set for November 3rd but eventually being dropped on November 6th.
The shoe comes in black colorways accented with a stripped white, red and black tongue that is also seen mid-sole. The back of the tongue incorporates the PSG logo with the popular PSG chant ‘ici c’est Paris’ also engraved.
This collaboration has improved apparel sales for both parties.
A lot more high profile celebrities have been seen rocking the collaborative jersey created for PSG. The most high profile case being J.cole who wore the jersey in the video for Tribe where he’s featured by Bas, a Dreamville signed artist. On the other hand while official projections for the almost week old Jordan 1 PSG’S are yet to be released, talk in the streets suggests that they’ll do some pretty impressive numbers.
- Jordan Chlorophyll 3 tinkers
Off the back of creating a lot of collaborative sister sneakers with both the Khaled’s ( Asahd and DJ Khaled) and Justin Timberlake, the retro 3’s are back on the shelves in a different collaborative project. This time, the designer being Tinker Hatfield. The sneaker officially dropped on the 11th of November. It doesn’t veer off from the original colourways of white, grey, black and its namesake chlorophyll green. The aesthetic quality of the shoe is also largely replicated from the original retro 3’s with complete Jordan branding on top of elephant print overlays.
