Walk the Talk and Beat Cancer

Walk the Talk‘ is a 5 km walk that aims to beat the Guinness World Record for the largest human awareness ribbon.

Eddah’s Hope is a foundation that was founded in 2012 by Mr Issaji Moussah after the loss of his mother, Mama Eddah, to breast cancer. The foundation advocates for early screening for early detection and prevention and creating awareness to realise cancer-free African generation. They focus on the youth and young adults between the ages of 20 and 35 years because they believe they are often left out when it comes to getting important information about matters relating to cancer and that they are also at an age where the lifestyle choices they make put them at a risk of getting diagnosed with cancer at an early age.

Stakeholders and supporters have helped Eddah’s Hope achieve various milestones over time that include donating mastectomy bras and breast prostheses to deserving breast cancer survivors across the country, refurbishing Thika Level 5 Pediatric wards and more.

The ‘Walk the Talk’ event will include the 5 km walk, cancer screening of breast, prostate and cervical cancers. There will be great music from top DJs, Zumba by Tizi, and food from vendors. There will also be other organisations that deal with youth-related issues like the Youth Alive Kenya and the Kenya YMCA.
The event is free entry for high school students and Ksh 1000/ for adults. The cost is inclusive of event t-shirt, cap and bottle of water.
