London-based YouTube channel, The Ubunifu Space has officially announced its Kenya tour slated for this December. The tour dubbed #UbuOnTour will also traverse South Africa. Made up of two teams in London and Nairobi, the channel has amassed a loyal following of nearly 200,000 subscribers and almost 30 million viewership numbers on their YouTube channel. “Ubunifu Space” has also attracted over 50,000 followers across its social platforms, thanks to the group’s relatable reactions to some of the biggest African songs and artists, both within and in the diaspora.
With aims to help build and create links for Africans from and outside the continent, Bryan (Kenya), Monique (Zimbabwe/Cameroon), David (Ghana), Sade (Nigeria) and Ian (Uganda) will spend time meeting with creatives, visiting local historic and cultural landmarks and establishing lasting connections with their locally-based online community.
“Music has obviously been a great export of Africa in the past, but there is so much more coming out from young creatives on the continent, and we would love to showcase the work to the UK, and the world”, they say.
Visiting Kenya from 12th December – 18th December 2019, the UK-based team of five is excited to connect with their Kenyan subscribers in Nairobi, through appearances and events to be announced.
