There are a number of influencers in Kenya. Most of them are born out of social media popularity. Kenyan university students are also influential considering they make up a huge percentage of the youth. Who are the students shaping and influencing Kenyan youngsters?
The ‘100 Most Influential Students in Kenya‘ list was compiled by a number of correspondents in different universities, online searches as well as suggestions from students. The list is a compilation of students who graduated in 2018 and those who are still on campus this year.
The list includes Towett Ng’etich, one of the winners of 2017’s Queen’s Young Leadership Award. Social media influencers such as Janet Machuka also make part of the list. She has a huge following on social media and she’s a brand content creator specializing in digital marketing. Former University of Nairobi’s Seth Gor who works for his own company, Vines of Africa, also made the top of the list.
Marvin Gakunyi, whose Alma Mater is Moi University, started a mobile journalism platform called ‘MoJo’ that has been featured by international media such as this one in the UK. Events organizer, Ferdinand Muganda also makes the list having been behind some of Moi University’s grand events.
